Broneil Ishaya and Adrena Oushana are the individuals responsible for originating the 2022 camp. Broneil is a local general dentist who received his doctorate from USCF and has been active in the Assyrian community for over a decade. He strongly believes that young Assyrian adults have an obligation to help the next generation of Assyrians succeed. He notes that many parents are immigrants who focus on creating a comfortable life for their children, but they don't always have the resources or network to help position their kids in programs that can help them stay ahead in education and social life.
Adrena Oushana, on the other hand, received her Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from CSU Stanislaus and has worked for many large companies in Southern California. She is a QA Engineer in the tech industry and serves as a committee board member of Mar Addai Parish. In addition, she produces a Christian podcast called Double Edged Sword.
Their mission for the camp is to focus on educating, inspiring, leading, and building a sense of community for the next generation. The camp is open to all within the Assyrian community, and its aim is to help children learn about their cultural heritage and build valuable skills that will serve them well throughout their lives. Through this program, they hope to help young Assyrians succeed and thrive, and to create a supportive community that will help them reach their full potential.
